SharpGrade QuadGrade

SharpGrade QuadGrade

Introducing QuadGrade, a simple and reliable 2D control system designed for SharpGrade products. It features an IP67-rated screen and junction box.

This system operates with a tripod-mounted rotary laser that spins at least 600 RPM.

The rotary laser can be flat, single, or dual-grade; the QuadGrade system is compatible with all types.

The MOBA IP67 LS3000 Proportional Laser Receivers are mounted on both sides of the blade and captures the beam from a rotary laser transmitter.

Deviations are recorded with millimetre precision in a 360° reception range.

These receivers allow for a proportional evaluation capture of 273mm.

Additionally, it can work with a sonic tracker and slope sensor, ensuring precise grading in a robust format without the complexity commonly found in traditional systems.

Its plug-and-play design requires minimal wiring, making installation straightforward. Plus, the auto-tune function removes the need for a machine control technician.

QuadGrade is available in three variants: QG 2D Wired, QG Pro with Tablet, and QG Power Pro with Tablet and Battery Pack.

The QG 2D Wired variant draws a 12V power supply directly from the Skid Steer.

This power source operates the junction box on the SharpGrade, while the same harness returns signals to control the functions displayed on the fixed screen in the cab.

The QG Pro with Tablet uses Bluetooth to connect the junction box and the tablet located in the cab.
While this variant still requires a 12V power supply from the Skid Steer, it eliminates the need for running additional cabling inside the cab. This feature makes it easy to transfer the SharpGrade Blade between multiple Skid Steer tool carriers.

The QG Power Pro with Tablet also utilizes Bluetooth for communication between the junction box and the in-cab tablet.
However, in this variant, the junction box is powered by an onboard 12V battery mounted on the SharpGrade itself.

This setup removes the necessity for a wiring loom to be installed in the Skid Steer, making it particularly suitable for a rental fleet.

Other key features:

  • Durable IP67 Screen and Junction Box:** Suitable for open cabs and harsh environments.
  • User-Friendly Control System:** Includes visual prompts, making it ideal for first-time users and the rental market.
  • Versatile Control Options:** Offers 2D fixed height, adjustable height, laser, sonic, and slope sensors.
  • Auto-Tune and Sensor Identification:** No machine control technician required.
  • Direct Connect Functionality:** Allows control directly from the joysticks on most skid steers.
  • Diagnostic Function:** Simplifies and speeds up troubleshooting.

The system operates with 300mm adjustable receivers or a sonic ski and slope sensor, allowing flexibility to meet various grading needs.

The QuadGrade system is fully upgradable to 3D and can have any 3D system overlaid onto it, so if you’re running a Topcon MC-Mobile 3D system in your excavators, you can also use it with your SharpGrade Box or Grader Blade.

You can overlay the Topcon system on top of the QuadGrade system. The same can be done with Leica, Trimble, MOBA and the Somero SiteShape system. They all overlay with the QuadGrade system, so it is easy to upgrade to 3D when you are ready for that move. So, you run the QuadGrade for your 2D projects, and when you want to run in 3D, you run your 3D system of choice. Then, you revert to the QuadGrade when you’re running 2D, which is another nice feature.
